What does, “Your visa, your responsibility” mean?
2 MINUTE READ
January 25, 2022

Your visa your responsibility means that each individual has the responsibility to comply with the terms of their visa. For example, someone who travels on a tourist visa (B1/B2) cannot study full time or engage in any type of work. It is also their responsibility to follow all laws in the US. For instance, it is strictly prohibited to drink and drive in all parts of the US. If you are arrested and do not abide by the terms of your visa, you may lose your visa- even your family members’ visas may be revoked in addition to being ineligible to obtain a future visa. Remember that having a visa is a privilege and not a right, and it must be used correctly.
