Waivers of Ineligibilities or “Pardons” for Nonimmigrant Visas
2 MINUTE READ
July 5, 2021

If you have been denied a non-immigrant visa and you have been informed by a consular officer that you have permanent ineligibility (also known as punishment) it is very important that you know the following:

Exemptions or “waivers” for non-immigrant visas can only be processed within the Embassy, at the time of your appointment, and at the discretion of the consular officer. It does not entail any additional cost. It is important to emphasize that no outside attorney or manager has access to the Embassy’s systems, nor to its record, nor can they process a request for forgiveness on its behalf.
