U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo Changes Visa Process for Families with Children under 14

Santo Domingo, DN – Starting on October 27, 2017, the U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo has discontinued the “Interview Waiver Program,” known as the “drop box,” and will require parents who wish to travel to the United States for vacation with their children (under the age of 14) to appear for an interview in representation of their children. Minors under the age of 14 should not appear at the VAC nor at the Consular Section for tourist visas.

This is part of the Consular Section’s ongoing effort to reduce the average nonimmigrant visa processing time for all applicants, including families traveling with children.  To learn more about the non-immigrant visa application process, please visit the Embassy website at do.usembassy.gov.
