If you have been accepted into the SWT Program and issued a J1 visa, please take a minute to review the requirements of the SWT Program before you travel.
- The program begin and end dates on the DS-2019 indicate when you may begin work and when you must stop working.
- You may enter the United States up to 30 days in advance of your program begin date but may not begin working until the program begin date is reached.
- You have 30 days following the end date of your program to return home. You are not permitted to work during these 30 days.
- Please check with your U.S. sponsor before making any changes in your employment or your status in the program may be terminated.
- You must check with your U.S. sponsor before accepting a second job.
