U.S. Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sign Bilateral Work Agreement

The U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic and the Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a bilateral work agreement to allow the families of diplomats from both countries to legally work in the host country’s local economy.

The signing took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, with Ambassador Robin Bernstein representing the United States and Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas Maldonado representing the Dominican Republic. At the event, Ambassador Bernstein said the agreement “allows loved ones to be productive, to have memorable experiences, and for all involved to gain unique perspectives into each other’s culture.” She also added that the United States looks forward to “continuing to work with the Dominican government future opportunities that add value and depth to our bilateral relationship.”
