The Consular Section is located at Av. República de Colombia #57, in Arroyo Hondo. The U.S. Citizens Services (ACS) Unit is closed on all Dominican and U.S. holidays, as well as on Administrative Days. The building is accessible to the disabled. General office hours are 7:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Thursday, and 7:30am – 11:30am on Friday. Our working hours for specific services are listed below.
All U.S. Citizen Services with the exception of adults over 18 applying for their first passport are provided at the Consular Agencies in Punta Cana and Puerto Plata. For your convenience, we recommend that you use the Consular Agencies for services if they are closer to your geographical location. The Agencies tend to have shorter wait times and be less crowded.

Passport interviews are by appointment only. In Santo Domingo, you need to make an appointment using our online appointment system.

Report of Birth Services:Consular Report of Birth checklist (PDF – 240 Kb). You may only apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad for your child in Santo Domingo. Once you have obtained all of your required documents as mentioned in the checklist, and are fully prepared, then you can make an appointment using our online appointment system for the required interview.

Such confirmation needs to be printed and presented the day of your appointment. Please keep in mind that only those individuals with confirmed appointments will be allowed into the Consular Section facilities.
In Santo Domingo, notarial services are provided by appointment only on Mondays through Thursdays (except onApplicants must bring their documents to be notarized to the Consular Section at 1:00 p.m. All applicants must pay the notarial fees at the Window 1 cashier, and wait to sign the documents in front of a consular officer.
