I have an appointment in the U.S. Embassy but feel sick, should I reschedule?

The health and safety of both our personnel and those we serve is our priority. For this reason, if you have an appointment for a consular service at the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo and are feeling sick, we urge you to reschedule your appointment.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as cough or fever, or anyone who has been knowingly exposed to someone with COVID-19 should NOT enter the Embassy. Individuals exhibiting visible symptoms may be turned away. Those experiencing symptoms should contact the consular section to request their interview be rescheduled.

Once in the Embassy, all visitors must follow the instructions provided by Embassy staff.  We strongly encourage all applicants to practice personal health and safety measures to decrease their likelihood of contracting or spreading any illness. Current safety tips and guidance can be found at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html
