Curfew Alert – U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo (March 20, 2020)
Location: Dominican Republic
On March 20, the President of the Dominican Republic established a curfew for entire territory of the Dominican Republic. Effective today March 20, all traffic and movement of people is prohibited from 8 pm to 6am. The curfew will remain in place through April 3.
The curfew follows the March 19 announcement of a State of Emergency that will be in place for 25 days to allow the President of the Dominican Republic to impose curfews and other extraordinary measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Actions to Take:
- Remain in your hotel or residence between 8pm and 6am until the curfew is lifted.
