Children under 14 do not need to be present at Interview

To better serve our immigrant visa applicants and maintain social distance, the Immigrant Visa Section suggests that applicants not bring children under the age of 14 to the interview unless specifically requested. The only time a child under age 14 must attend the interview is if he or she is the only applicant on the petition. A child under the age of 14 does not need to be present at the interview if they are included in the same petition as their parents. In other words, when the “SDO” case number is the same for the parent and the child; Minors under 14 years of age do not need to attend the interview. Thanks for your cooperation. We work to accommodate the largest number of applicants with safe social distancing.
