Current holders of non-immigrant visas in all classes except Treaty Traders and Investors (E visas) can apply to renew their visa without an interview given the visa is still valid or expired less than 48 months ago. This option is advantageous, as applications will be processed and your passport returned in approximately 10 business days.

To qualify for an interview waiver:

You must be a Dominican citizen or a permanent residency card holder. If you are a legal permanent resident of the Dominican Republic, your last visa must have been issued in Santo Domingo.

You must be renewing the same classification as your current visa.

The visa you are renewing must be a multiple entry full-validity visa.

First-time visa applicants under over 80 also qualify for an interview waiver, as do those under 14 given that at least one parent holds a valid 10-year tourist visa or is renewing at the same time as the child. Please note if either one of the parents is a legal permanent resident (LPR) in the United States or is a U.S. citizen, the child does not qualify for the interview waiver program and will have to schedule a regular appointment. All interview waiver applicants may be called for an interview if requested by the consular officer.
