Although the U.S. Embassy remains closed for all routine visa services, we continue to provide emergency and mission-critical Consular services as resources and local conditions allow. U.S. citizens can still submit their passports for renewal by mail and services are available for emergencies. Please visit our website for detailed instructions on all available services.
The following guidelines must be followed for all visits to the U.S. Embassy:
Entry Requirements:
Only applicants with a confirmed appointment will be permitted to enter the Embassy for Consular services. Masks are required for entry and must be worn properly during the entire duration of visit. Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as cough or fever, or anyone who has been knowingly exposed to someone with COVID-19 should NOT enter the Embassy. They should contact the Consular section to request their interview be rescheduled.
Waiting Room instructions:
All visitors must follow the instructions given Embassy staff. All visitors must maintain social distancing of at least 2 meters from others who are not members of their family group. Hand sanitizer is available, and visitors are encouraged to use it.
