Beginning Thursday, April 14, there will be increased presence of police, medical and safety personnel on main roads, highways, beaches, and other locations. These personnel are being deployed to prevent or respond to any emergency traffic accidents, drownings, alcohol poisoning and food poisoning that can be associated with heavy holiday travel and festivities around the Dominican Republic during the Easter holiday.
U.S. citizens are encouraged to follow any instructions or warnings from authorities, drive defensively, and take normal precautions around crowds, etc.
