When submitting the Affidavit of Support, include the sponsor’s Tax Record (Transcript) from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). A tax record is just one document to upload, rather than having to upload both the IRS 1040 Form and Form W-2. If you upload the Tax Record to your case, then you do not need to upload the 1040 and W2. Remember, the 1040 alone is not sufficient, you must also upload the W-2 if you upload the 1040. However, remember, one document is easier than two, so consider getting the Tax Record. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has a website for accessing a Tax Record: Obtenga su registro tributario | Internal Revenue Service (https://www.irs.gov/es/individuals/get-transcript). If you upload a Tax Record for the sponsor (petitioner and joint sponsor, if necessary), it will help your interview go faster and could prevent your case from being refused for missing documents.
